Website visits and hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like other hosting providers, Vercel processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from an IP address, response status, and security or diagnostic information. Vercel handles this information under its privacy notice.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, or behavioral advertising on this website. The website does not offer user accounts, purchases, surveys, public comments, or a contact form.

Corporate Announcement Decoder
When you choose to use the Corporate Announcement Decoder, the announcement text you enter, any context you add, and the content needed to produce the result are sent through our server to the OpenAI API. This processing is necessary to generate the analysis and Second Read you request.
We do not intentionally save Decoder submissions or generated responses in an application database or application logs. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the account holder opts in. Under OpenAI’s standard API controls, prompts, responses, and related information may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is legally required. OpenAI describes those practices and available retention controls in its API data-controls documentation.
Do not submit confidential company information, trade secrets, personal information, or other sensitive material to the Decoder. Use public company announcements or other material you are authorized to share.
Newsletter and Substack
The Corporate Undoing is published through Substack. If you enter an email address in the subscription form and submit it, your browser sends that information to Substack. Substack then processes the subscription, email delivery, unsubscribe requests, and related subscription or engagement information. We may access subscriber information through the publication account to operate the newsletter.
Submitting the form is voluntary. We do not enroll you automatically. You can unsubscribe using the link included in newsletter emails. Substack handles information under its privacy policy.
If you contact us by email, we may retain your email address, message, attachments, and our response for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain business records, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. Email is not a secure channel, so please do not send confidential or sensitive information.
How information may be shared
We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the website, Decoder, newsletter, and email; disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect rights and security; or transferred as part of a merger, reorganization, or sale of the business.
